BRAVO! Marco Rubio speaks about Venezuela and Cuba with the truth
In Venezuela, students burn the Cuban flag
A magnificent 14 minute speech in the U.S. Congress by Senator Marco Rubio (R - Florida), see link above, combined U.S. factual eloquence with Caribbean passion. Answering the uniformed, sugary appraisal of the Cuban regime by another Senator, Tom Harkin ( D - Iowa), Rubio delivered a magnificent speech, one that elegantly demolished Harkin's ignorant view of Cuba as a "paradise". Rubio also spoke about the Venezuelan tragedy like no one in the U.S. Congress had done, giving wings to Venezuelans who love democracy. Speaking about us, Rubio said: "They want what we have here: democracy".
He spoke about the silence of the Latin American leadership in regards of Venezuela, hinting about cowardice and greed on their part. He showed pictures illustrating the brutal repression going on in Venezuela, saying: "This is what Cubans have trained Venezuelan security forces to do" or something to that effect.
What a courageous person! I hope he runs for president of the United States.
