I wish these September days could last forever

April might be the “cruellest” month, not only because Eliot says so in “The Waste Land” but because this is the month we pay taxes. On the other hand September is the sweetest. It is the month in which the high summer temperatures start to retreat and give way to a soft breeze, a warm, non-biting sun and clear and blue skies. I go and take a walk among the trees and I can almost hear them sing. Only for the stock market has September been the cruelest month. In September 1931 the market lost 31% of its value.

September is the door to autumn and autumn is my favorite season of the year. It is the time in which we start to realize winter is coming but this certainty fails to terrify us, so wonderful is the spectacle of the leaves turning and the world becoming a palette of multiple colors that no Boticelli or Van Gogh could be able to match.

No Boticellis can match the palette of nature

It is in September when I feel there is nothing wrong in the world. Today, September 21, 2012, is a day that I would wish to last forever.

I can so totally identify with you. September days are those when so many of us get caught up with dreaming about the rest of our lives!
